From time to time we love to brag about our projects and celebrate some of the challenges we've solved for our customers. Here's the ones we really enjoyed.
Web Hosting & Marketing Provider (Not us!)
This organisation's primary focus is building websites and providing website marketing services for their customers such as Adwords and directory listings. They're a skilled group of web programmers and graphical designers, but their infrastructure lacked the capacity to support their rapidly growing business and started to literally grind to a halt, introducing their customers to a new term - "unscheduled down-time" ! By looking at the performance of their systems and discovering the bottle-necks, URL Networks were able to reduce the load on their web systems and stabilise the environment. We've now established a 12 month plan for this customer which will achieve a level of redundancy in their systems and improve performance while using virtualisation to lower their cost of data centre rack space.
Jukebox Hire Company
This micro-business had two problems. No website, no phone system. Marketing ROI was lost because customers were unable to contact the operator to enquire about their services. A website content management system (CMS) was used to provide the business with easy updates to their website, and a Voice-Over-IP based phone system put in place to ensure their inbound telephone enquiries were directed to their people on the road - this ensures their customers "get through" and gives them a chance to turn an enquiry in to a sale.
